ACE strengthens multinational service capabilities in Europe
Hendrik-Jan Wiersema joins Global Client Executive team, covering global insurance programmes in the Benelux region Oct 21, 2013

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group today announced the appointment of Hendrik-Jan Wiersema as Global Client Executive as it continues to invest in its offering to global clients requiring worldwide insurance programmes.

ACE’s Global Client Executive practice was established in 2010 to complement the company’s existing strategies to better partner with clients and brokers who value a single point of contact in accessing ACE’s multi-line, global network of products and services. In this role, Hendrik-Jan will work collaboratively with ACE’s global clients and distribution partners to provide access to a broad range of global risk management solutions, with a particular focus on clients based in the Benelux region.

Hendrik-Jan has over thirty years of insurance industry experience and was previously Business Development Manager and Client Executive for ACE’s major accounts in the region, a role he was appointed to in 2011. Before this, he spent four years as ACE’s regional head of energy in Continental Europe and five years leading the property team in the Benelux countries. Prior to joining ACE in 2002, he had underwriting and development roles at a number of large insurers, including RSA Global and HDI-Gerling.

In his new position, Hendrik-Jan will retain responsibility for major account clients in the Benelux. He will continue to be based in ACE’s Rotterdam and Antwerp offices, reporting to Benelux Country President Ron Verhulsdonck and Sales and Distribution Director for Continental Europe, Patricia Goudarzi.

Ron Verhulsdonck, Country President, Benelux at ACE, said:

“Multinational business is an increasingly important aspect of ACE’s business in the Benelux region as our domestic industries become more globally-focused and our clients therefore demand seamless global cover. Hendrik-Jan has shown, over a decade with ACE, that he has the technical knowledge and market relationships needed to run complex global programmes and work effectively with colleagues at a local and worldwide level.”

Patricia Goudarzi, Sales and Distribution Director for Continental Europe, said:

“Our 19 strong worldwide network of global client executives forms the backbone offering to multinationals. There is no substitute for personalised, expert service and making an additional appointment to this group reflects ACE’s commitment to this approach. Hendrik-Jan has an excellent track record working with large clients and his ability to tailor the wide ranging products and services that the ACE Group can offer will make him an integral part of this important client-facing network.”

ACE’s network of global client executives is complemented by ACE Worldview®, its award-winning web-based portal for clients with multinational insurance programmes.
