PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group today announced two management promotions as it continues to invest in its casualty insurance business across its Continental Europe region.
Jerome Salmon has been promoted to the position of Regional Casualty Manager, Continental Europe. In this role, he will have profit centre responsibility for ACE’s casualty portfolio across the region. He will also be responsible for driving strategy for the portfolio, ensuring its profitable growth and continuing its expansion into new niche markets. Previously, Jerome had regional responsibility for ACE’s multinational and major risk casualty accounts in Continental Europe.
Jerome will continue to be based in Paris. He will report to Jeff Moghrabi, Chief Operating Officer, Continental Europe at ACE and to Mark Homan, Executive Vice President, Casualty for ACE Overseas General. Jerome replaces Rosemary Ness, who has chosen to take a career break.
At the same time, Connie Germano, Casualty Manager, Middle Market and Life Sciences, Continental Europe at ACE, has been promoted to the role of Regional Technical Manager Casualty and Underwriting Manager Casualty Specialties, Continental Europe.
Connie will retain her existing technical underwriting responsibilities, and continue to oversee and grow ACE’s life sciences portfolio in the region. She will also assume additional responsibility for managing underwriting and product development for casualty in the specialty areas of product recall, food tamper, construction, chemicals and energy risks. Connie will continue to be based in Zurich and will report to Jerome.
Jeff Moghrabi, Chief Operating Officer, Continental Europe at ACE, said:
“Casualty is a sector of great strategic importance for ACE in Continental Europe, where we have we have built up significant breadth and depth of expertise. These promotions reflect our continued investment and will help us continue to deploy our international and local knowledge to support the evolving needs of our customers.
“Jerome’s outstanding underwriting credentials, extensive market experience and progress in developing ACE’s European multinational and major account portfolio mean he is ideally placed to lead our regional casualty team and shape our future strategy. Meanwhile, Connie has been instrumental in driving our successful entry into new areas in Europe such as life sciences and product recall and her expanded role will help us to step up our focus on product development.
“Finally, I would like to thank Rosie Ness for her significant contribution to ACE over more than 20 years and wish her well for the future.”
Jerome Salmon has over 20 years of experience in underwriting and management positions, gained mainly in France across a number of insurance companies. He joined ACE in August 2012 from AIG France, where he was most recently head of the company’s liability division with responsibility for casualty, environmental liability, product contamination and fleet motor risks across all customer segments.
Connie Germano began her career as an underwriter and has over 25 years of insurance industry experience, including ten at ACE, gained mainly in the US. Before joining the Continental Europe team in Zurich in August 2012, Connie served as a US national account segment leader for ACE with responsibility for managing a book of lead umbrella and excess liability insurance business, that included companies with global exposures.
