MANAMA, Bahrain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group today announced the appointment of Nikhil Soman as Financial Lines Underwriting Manager for its Middle East and North Africa (MENA) business, as it continues to expand this line of insurance throughout the region.

Nikhil has been working alongside Charles Pope, the previous MENA Region Financial Lines Underwriting Manager, since July 2010, and has been instrumental in growing the financial lines portfolio, which provides a comprehensive range of primary and excess products. His particular underwriting expertise includes financial institutions, directors’ and officers’ liability and professional indemnity insurance. Before joining ACE in July 2010, Nikhil held underwriting roles at ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company, Tata AIG General and ICICI Prudential Life in his native India.

Reporting to Mark Quinn, Director and Senior Executive Officer of ACE’s operations at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Nikhil takes up his new role with immediate effect. He will be based at the DIFC and will travel throughout ACE’s network of offices in the MENA region.

Charles Pope has been promoted to the role of Underwriting Audit Manager for ACE International and will be based in ACE’s London office.
