ACE Expands Claims Management Team in Europe

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACE Group today announced the expansion of its claims management team in its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region as it continues to strengthen its claims management capabilities and enhances its claims service for customers.

Appointments in London

Steve Parry has been promoted to the role of Head of UK and Ireland Claims. In this new role, Steve will provide a single point of contact for all business lines in ACE’s UK and Ireland operations, working with them to co-ordinate effective management of claims across the business. Steve has 27 years of insurance industry experience, and has been with ACE for six years, most recently as Property and Energy Claims Manager.

He will report to Peter Murray, Claims Director, EMEA and International Casualty Claims Executive, and to David Robinson, Regional President, UK and Ireland and Matthew Shaw, President, ACE Global Markets, reflecting the scope of the role which encompasses both the retail and wholesale businesses.

Steve’s appointment will enable Graham Chesman, Multinational Claims Client Executive, to increase his focus on claims management for ACE’s multinational client segment. Graham will continue to function as deputy to Peter Murray. Graham has been with ACE for 32 years and has held a variety of senior claims management roles.

Andrew McAvan, has been promoted to the role of Property Claims Manager, ACE European Group. Andy will additionally assume responsibility for managing co-ordination of catastrophe claims reporting within ACE Overseas General. Andrew has spent his 22-year career in claims roles at ACE.

Steve Crabb has been promoted to Political Risk and Energy Claims Manager, assuming responsibility for Energy Claims across ACE’s EMEA region in addition to the political risk and trade credit segments. Steve joined ACE in 2011 as Political Risk Claims Manager and has 15 years of insurance industry experience.

Following an assignment in Asia Pacific, Darren Farrup has returned to ACE European Group to take up the position of Personal and Business Insurance Claims Manager. Darren has 22 years of insurance industry experience and has been with ACE for six years in both underwriting and claims roles.

All of the above roles are based in London and the changes are effective immediately.

Continental Europe appointments

ACE has also announced the following appointments as it continues to strengthen its claims management capabilities within its Continental Europe region.

Eric Merville has joined ACE as Director of Claims for Continental, Central and Eastern Europe, reporting to Peter Murray and to Joe Clabby, Regional President, Continental Europe. Eric is based in Paris and has responsibility for ensuring effective claims management across all ACE’s business operations in this region. He has 20 years of insurance and reinsurance industry experience, most recently as Head of Property and Casualty Claims for AXA Corporate Solutions.

Blandine Thiry has joined ACE in the newly created role of Continental Europe Claims Operations Manager, based in Paris and reporting to Eric. Blandine is responsible for ensuring claims servicing and processing efficiency across our business operations in Continental Europe. She has 11 years of insurance industry and consultancy experience, most recently at Chartis as Claims Operations Manager for France and previously in a regional claims operations role for Continental Europe.
